Lite Brite Templates Printable – How Glowpeg is different

Our printable lite brite templates are different because we provide two different background options: dark and white. But what does this mean?

One of the things our customers have told us over the years is concern about the amount of ink used when printing.

Because the traditional lite brite refills have a black background, folks have been concerned printing the background will use too much ink. Fair ask.

Here’s what I did to attempt to resolve and where we are today.

First, I tried to determine if there was any kind of special black paper our customers could use. You know, perhaps provide a link to where to buy and suggest they purchase the black paper. After searching the Internet with no success, I visited three local print shops to learn more. At each shop, I was told it’s not possible to print white or light colors on black paper with white ink. One shop even offered to prove to me! They were correct.

So what could I do to provide printable lite brite templates with least amount of ink usage?

One day it came to me. Let’s flip the script! Let’s reimagine the traditional lite brite design refill and consider the lite brite design PRINTABLE.

What if the printable lite brite template didn’t conform tradition? What if the lite brite template printables had a white background instead of dark!?

That would save tremendous amount of ink and still provide the convenience of being to order, print, and use right away!

So, that’s what we did. I worked with my designers and now all of our lite brite templates come with two options: dark and white backgrounds. Customers get both options in the same order. No need to order one vs. the other. Customers can choose to print to their preference.

So there you have it!
